FAQ

The minimum tire width is 2.8” and the maximum tire pressure is 10psi. This means we are allowing plus bikes, however fat bikes with tires greater than 4.0 are recommended with a psi range of 4 to 8 based on conditions. Our main concern is the impact to the trail system. We tested a 3.0" tire with low pressure and under a 190lb rider this setup made a very low impact to the well packed and groomed trails of the ASC Training Center. Please don’t use a 2.8" tire if you weigh over 200lbs.
If it is fair weather, standard winter thermal cycling clothing works well with thermal shoe covers and ski gloves. You will be pedaling and working hard so your clothing needs to breathe. If there is wind and/or snow, an added windproof layer may be necessary.
Yes! Huge thanks to Mikes Bike's, Paco's Ski and Bike, and Tahoe Sport LTD for bringing out demo bikes. Checkout what bikes are currently available.
We will do our best to hold the races as long it is possible to get racers to the venue and compete safely; however, certain things are outside our control. If we are forced to cancel part or all of the race due to weather conditions or road closures, we will refund 50% of your entry. (Due to upfront costs for shirts, food, rentals, etc. we are unable to offer full refunds. Thanks for your understanding.)

About FatDuro

  • The FatDuro is the brainchild of Clint and Jennifer Claassen with TimeYourRace.

They wanted to create a fat bike race that had something for every fitness level, but wasn't over in 20 minutes like a short track race! Hence the multiple courses, just like an enduro race.
